 about Visual Studio configuration for Max externals development but it was made for Max 5/6 and I want to apply it to Max SDK 7.1 and Visual Studio 2015.

1. When setting the Preprocessor Definitions, it is written: "Define preprocessor options for Windows target WIN_VERSION, WIN_EXT_VERSION. If your external uses the sprintf function, it is recommended to also add _CRT_SECURE_NO_DEPRECATE to avoid multiple warnings when compiling." However in the screen caption below this text, there an additional line: "PROGCHANGE_EXPORTS".

2. Later, to link with Max external libraries, there is already "%(AdditionalDependencies)" in the "Input" field. I keep this entry and add "MaxAPI.lib" and then "maxcrt.lib", so the final results is "MaxAPI.lib;maxcrt.lib;%(AdditionalDependencies)". Is it the right thing to do?

3. The tutorial states one should "add the module definition file". Where do I find this file? Moreover, the "Module Definition File" field doesn't allow one to browse to a file, so how do I encode the filename and its path?

The best solution is to start from an existing Visual Studio project from Max SDK, change its name and add your code. Much easier.
