@Dan what does it mean for your development? Did you sign the $99 developer contract?

Well, several of my Max apps use mxj, and so, even if not installed on the Mac by default anymore (as Apple have hinted that they will do starting with the next major version), at least end users will have a reliable and hopefully easy way to install Java on the Mac without too much trouble.

From an Apple Mac app store point of view, they have said that they will not take apps that include dependence on things not installed by default, which I believe includes Java. So no go there... I have not signed up for the developer program yet, still thinking about it...

Hey Dan, any updates with the use of java ... is it Apple contraband now for Max apps or has OpenJDK saved it?

I've not investigated this extensively, but I've not heard that Apple has changed their stance on Java for apps in the Mac App Store - still a no go, as far as I know.
