Jit.qt.grab with external camera. Latency problem.

Dear All I m working on a vision analysis program which requires real time performance on camera then process in Jitter. So I borrowed a pro-camera from university (firewire) then use it as a real time image capture by using jit.qt.grab. However, the result shows massive latency and worse than web-cam, even though the image quality is better, It is very hard to carry on the analysis. So, can any one give me some suggestion? Can this problem be fixed or improved? All the best Yang

Do you use [qmetro] with a low value, for example : [qmetro 2] ? When you said "latency" you mean time refresh of the image or delay of displaying ?

yes, the qmetro is set to 2. And normally below 30 wouldnt see many difference. And by latency i mean the delay of displaying. Thank you Yot.~
