jit.qt.movie start/stop vs rate 0

    Just a quick question.
Is there any advantage to using start stop messages to jit.qt.movie over simply just sending a rate 0 message? It seems easier to use rate as it can be easily toggled. Will there be any processing going on with a rate of 0 against stopping the movie? And is there a way of asking the object if it's started or stopped as I can't seem to find one, but using rate I can getrate.
    Many thanks
