jit.movie error loading mp4 file
Hi
After I updated Max 9, I found that jit.movie could not open a previous MP4 file, although some other MP4 files could be opened. The information in this MP4 file is MPEG-4 AAC and H.264, but other MP4 files with the same information can still be opened. This is confusing to me."

What do you mean by 'could not open'? Is there any error message?
Maybe that movie file was in a folder you added in File Preferences (check in the Options menu) which got reset when you updated to Max 9?
When I tried to send [message read] to [jit.movie] and select my MP4 file, the console showed “jit.movie • error loading file.”
I checked the “Options > File Preferences,” and the video file location is listed there.
I am sure I didn’t make any big change after downloading the Max 9

if you use read message to select a file using open dialog,
file does not have to be listed in any preferences.
So problem could be corrupt file, or something else.
nothing significant should have changed in either video engine for Max 9. I'd be happy to take a look if you can send me the file robr at cycling74 dot com

I downloaded this video from YouTube to finish my final term project, but when I opened the patcher again, I found that jit.movie could not load this MP4 file. Then, I opened a new patcher and tried to read this file again, but it still didn’t work.
I have no problem opening that file in either engine in Max 9. Maybe a system restart will help.

My bad
I think the main problem might be that my folder name is 'MAX/MSP' (I wanted to organize my work in a folder). When I moved this file out of the folder, the problem was solved. It can be read.
