Hi,

i am trying to run jitter in Max 8/ Max 9 on a Windows System:

When i start Max 8.6.4 and open File -> New From Template -> opengl_starter Patch Max crashes and closes after turning the qmetro on.

When i start Max 9.0.3 Max is also crashing after trying to load Jitter Geometry Demo.

So could it be, that my System is to old to run Jitter in Max 8 and Max 9?

And how can i avoid loading the Jitter Geometry Demo after starting Max 9?

Now I have installed Max 7.3.5 and the opengl_starter patch does work without crashing.

It could be. The first thing to try is to change the default graphics engine to gl2.

Unfortunately if the Max tour is crashing, leaving you unable to change the preference, then you'll have to manually edit the max preferences in a text editor.

Locate the file here:

~/Library/Application Support/Cycling '74/Max 9/Settings/maxpreferences.maxpref

change "startuptour" : 1 to "startuptour" : 0 to disable the tour.

change "gfxengine" : "glcore" to "gfxengine" : "gl2" to change the graphics engine.

Would be great if you could send a message to support so this gets logged and ticketed so we can investigate further. Please let us know if this sorts you out.
