1.)
in max 8, can you turn off the default (single-key) keyboard commands (for object creation) programmatically? or switch between different pref sets easily?
2.)
are alt-key commands used somewhere already?
3.)
do many of you already turn off those command for themselves regulary/always?

I never use it, but did you try the "usual" way?
On Mac, the max-keycommands.txt file resides in the Application folder -> Contents -> Ressources -> C74 -> init

well the idea would be to turn it on and off with the least number of clicks possible, not change it permanently.
there is no "sets" (as there are for object colors) as it seems?
