Kinect 1414 with Max 7 in Windows 10 - a gordian knot...
I have a hard time connecting a Kinect 1414 through a windows 10 machine to Max. It is notorious the fact that Kinect is an great yet old and discontinued tool, with the subsequent problems that abandonment of support has lead to.
I was informed that I have to use Kinect v1.8 to make it work. Indeed, tools like the sceleton tracking works fine from the Kinect tools.
However, I have spent several hours trying to connect this to Max. I guess the next step is to manage to send OSC messages. I have tried Kinect-via interfaces of jpbellona but there are many steps of different installations and at least one of them doesn't work causing the whole result in a failure. Some programs are outdated or the links are missing. Other attepts I did was with more recent versions that was causing the system not to recognize the Kinect.
Please help!
Not sure if you do any programming, but a sure-fire way to get things working is to modify the Skeleton Tracking example application to send the values over OSC as needed using a library like:
If you don't, I may be able to dig up exactly this as I had made it at one point before dp.kinect was available, which is still my top recommendation.
Thank you!
I will try this a soon as back in mac with the kinect.
Cause, I finally started working the project in Win10 with a Kinect v2 and - of course - with new challenges.
P.S. Sorry for taking so long to reply. I just realised you have responded so many days ago.
I realised you are talking about dp.kinect, which in the meanwhile I have already purchase and successfully used in Win10! Thanx anyway.
