Kinect under Windows 7 to Max with local coordinates, what's the best setup?

    Hi all,
I've been playing with Kinect for a few days now using the Microsoft beta and the patch in this thread:
It's been going ok but I'm wondering if there is a better setup to suit my needs. There are so many options I'm finding it a bit confusing and thought I'd ask.
What I really want is to make use of a local coordiante system (each joint relative to the parent) rather than the world coordinate system, as I want to measure acceleration separately for each joint and get the data into Max.
What do you think the best solution is?
    Thanks in advance,
ps. I'm on 64bit Windows 7, using an Xbox 360 Kinect and Max 6

I'm looking to do the same thing. I recommend getting the latest sdk and learning c#. Microsoft has a great tutorial series that will get you up and running on the msdn website. It sounds like a lot of trouble but in the end you will have exactly what you want.

Thanks for the replies. I've been playing with Synapse today and it seems to be just the ticket.
      Many thanks,
