Kinect Wont Tilt when upside down? (Any work around)
Hi Everyone,
I am doing some tracking stuff with my Kinect,
I am hanging it upside down and its working great...but i have made a nice TouchOSC controller for my patch, but the tilt cant be controlled when the unit is upside down?
Any one know a way around it? Has it got a tilt switch or something?
Regards,
Oli
Sounds more like a built in firmware 'protection'. An upside-down reading of the accelerometer might be interpreted as a sensor malfunction, blocking the motor operation. Haven't tried this though.
Just tried with jit.freenect.grab. Doesn't work indeed. There's a mechanical click but it doesn't move.
Hi,
I thought it would be something like that, Just as this thing had been hacked to death that someone might have figured something out!
Im using the [freenect] object too
Could it be that the tiny motor inside simply isn't designed to tilt it? That it's a mechanical limitation?
What do you mean? The motor is for tilting.
I was holding it by the camera end, so the motor only had to move the base sticking up. Who knows, maybe it needs the weight of the cam to function, dunno.
