Kiosk Mode

Hello guys,

I'm doing a kiosk sort of thing for a exhibition in london, I'm wondering if I could use max for it (I have knowledge in it, just need this one answered).

The computer it will run in will be a mac. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to either password protect the quit of the app, or possible a secret extra hard combination to quit the application. The application itself will run on fullscreen with dock hidden. What I want to do is cancel all the cmd + q functionalities etc so customers cannot quit the application, but staff/maintenance can. Please advice me if this is possible with MAX or will I need to use Xcode?

Thanks

I set up an example patch for you.

In my example (on windows 8.1 at least), the only way to exit fullscreen mode is to type in the password "up". When you alt-tab my example, the alt-tab menu does come up unfortunately, but it does not allow you to switch applications (provided one monitor is in use). Ctrl-alt-delete does interrupt the window, but even after launching the task manager, the user is not able to exit the fullscreen application without knowing the secret password.

So, all in all, I consider my solution to be 95% perfect (does that even make sense?).

Good luck!
