Korg nanoKontrol

hi

i just got the very small and handy Korg NanoKontroller an dthe first
thing I want to do is to be able to edit some of its parameters from
max, on the fly, as opposed to launch the Korg editor

one thing which would be VERY handy would be to control the ON/OFF
status of the small pads (ON-red OFF-white) when they are in toggle
mode) so i could, say switch an effect ON on the patch, switch it OFF
from the nano, switch it ON again from either source etc

i tried to catch what the editor send to the device (catching the
messages in max with a midiin - or even sysexin) but it's a
deceptively short message, which stays the same even if i change one
parameter
[240, 126, 127, 6, 1, 247]

did anyone found a way to control the Kontrol???

actually just switching the lights and teh 4 scenes would be all I need

many thanks

kasper

there's a lot of information about the padkontrol and korg's native mode on the net..
I don't know how much the protocol differs from the nanokontrol, but you might give it a try...
here's a pretty complete midi implementation chart:
http://kpkproject.twoday.net/files/Padkontrol-Sysex-Imp/

I could post my patch for the padkontrol, if you want to..but there's already plenty of patches out there.

cheers,

Jan,

1 - There's no plenty of patches at all. Show me some. I guess what you'll get is the ones i built myself, or ones made with them. But i could be wrong, of course.

2 - Korg didn't documented anything much. I had to gather all the infos by myself before having success talking to any of their machines in Sysex to get the native mode working ok.

3 - Stefan and Kasper are talking about the Nano Kontrol which IS UNDOCUMENTED. No implemetation charts anywhere. Give us some if you have.

Best

@f.e:
I was talking about the padKontrol. Sorry, I mixed it up and assumed, that nanoKontrol was the little version of the padKontrol, which it's obviously not

so, good luck with the hacking then...
