Large patch with Touch input

Hello Maxpeople
I am in the process of creating a fairly cpu intensive patch that is controlled by a HP 2310ti touch screen. I have tried to optimize it as much as possible but the patch does not seem to react very well to the touch inputs.
The setup is a i7 with 8 gigs of ram and 2 ati graphics cards running separate projectors, so there should be plenty of ressources.
When I use a mouse it works without a problem. Do anybody have experience with how to optimize touch inputs in max msp or in windows 7 in general.

Best regards
Mikkel

How well does the touch monitor work in other applications? I'm not familiar with Windows7 but what about your performance/resources monitor in Windows, does this show unexpected or greedy usage somewhere related to the touchscreen? I bought a cheap touchpanel overlay (Vista) and its performance was so bad I had to just hack it myself for use with Max....
