LCD??

I'm working on a patch that will eventually emulate the candy bytes effectrix effects sequencer, using lcd as part of the interface. Have run into some issues, one is that when dragging a region onto the lcd, the display glitches if you drag too fast, and also that whenever the loop reaches the beginning, the toggle to turn on the effect is turned on, and I can't figure out a way of preventing it.

Note - when using a short loop, the toggle being triggered at the start of the loop is not noticeable, but I need to fix the problem, as I plan to use it with long loops and recordings.

I'm very new to max/msp, so any help is greatly appreciated.
