Listfunnel index output order

billyanok's icon

Hello,
I know there is a VERY simple answer to this problem. With the attached patch I'm trying to sort the output order of the indexing when using the combine object on the output of [listfunnel 1].
I understand the R to L order in max, hence the question.

It'll make sense when viewing the patch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Various possible solutions. Here are two among others. The left one simply reverts the list using [zl.rev], the right one uses [buddy] to revert the order of arriving messages.

Do you mean, you're trying to reverse a two-item list? There are in fact many very simple answers...

[swap] instead of [unpack] is one.
message box with $2 $1 is another.
[list.rev]

This has great potential to become a dogpile thread!

If the mapping is always the same, you may stick to buddy. You can easily reorder just by cabling and buddy spits out the result when it has received all inputs.

TFL, Tyler and Peter, thx for your feedback, I knew it was something simple.
This forum is amazing,
I've never actually used buddy or swap in my years in Max.. It's the small things in life.
Swap did the trick.
Thx again,

Nice

Oh, that is nicer! But why stop there...?

Last time I tried to use $1 changeable argument without space in the message
it did not work, I don't even remember which max version it was.

good to know that one can use it like that now , makes stuff easier,
but I have to check how backward compatible that is...

dont trust messagebox! but i have to admit that it is one object less than trigger/sprintf.

As long as the $1 is the first segment of the token/symbol I've never seen an issue with it... back to Max 4.5?

$1_test ✅
test_$1 ❌

That order dictate breaks it for me
