litter power and max 5 on windows xp

hello,

i am trying to use the litter power starter pack in max 5 on xp but max won't find any of the externals. the max window tells me 'error 127 loading external' and sometimes i receive an 'entry point not found' error from tooltip:max.exe which also says 'the procedure entry point xqt_initializeqtml could not be located in the dynamic link library maxapi.dll'. i have no duplicates of the litter power files in my search path and all my other externals which are in nearby directories in the search path are working fine.

i am using xp with service pack 3 on a pc with 2gb ram,intel t5500 dual core.

any pointers appreciated as i am pining for the very useful lp.scampf...
