Looking to hire M4L programmer.
Hello all! I've been wanting to repurpose my Mk1 Launchpads for a long time but lack the M4L programming chops to do so. The idea is to use the grid on each Launchpad to select between notes 0-63 and 64-127 with the scene launch and other function buttons selecting between MIDI channels 2 through 16. I've included a pic that better explains the concept and has all of the notes, MIDI #'s, and colors pre-determined for each button. I have 6 Launchpads and need to be able to select the note range (0-63 or 64-127) and MIDI channel on each one independently. It would be nice if each button turned red when pressed but going from lit to unlit back to lit is fine too if performance will be compromised. Any comments explaining how to achieve what I'm wanting (if it's even possible) are certainly appreciated although the main objective here is to hire someone that can deliver a fully functional product. Please PM your rate and a rough timeline of how long you think it will take to complete the project.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Can you do PMs here? I don't know.
Anyway - I think what you want to do is possible to an extent. I'm not sure how the 'channel' functions in this scenario. What are you using the different channels for? Sending to particular synths/samplers that listen to all INs but only one channel?
I'm asking because Live does some funky stuff with MIDI channels. You can't send MIDI out of a Live track with any channel data. And you can't modify what channel the LP sends on dynamically, so using a M4L device to assign particular channels to particular devices won't really work. You might have to think of something else. Or make a standalone 'middle-ware' solution using Max. So the MIDI would go LP -> Max -> Live.
Looks very doable to me. drop me a line and we can talk - can't PM on here as far as I know! shane at shane koss dot com
