Lowpass filter for random object?
Hi there
Im trying to lowpass filter the output of a random object.
I want to get the same effect as if were lowpass filtering the output of the random object sending the output to an oscillator to create portamento.
Which object is best for this?
Thanks alot!!!
line object best for this maybe?
Sounds like you want a "colored" noise like pink or brown noise instead of the white noise the random object aims for.
At the risk of repeating myself: take a look at Litter Power. There are several objects there that will do this for you, even in the Starter Pack, such as lp.pfff and lp.sss. The cooler objects are in the Litter Pro Bundle. For instance, lp.pvvv gives you a continuous control over the strength of the "low pass filter".
You can patch your own "filtering" but really good algorithms take a bit of thought and/or research. Litter Power does the research for you. URL below.

Here's a one pole filter:

Thanks all!
I think i got very nice results with using a random object with 8 as an argument, connected to select objects, triggering different line objects with different values/ramp times.
With 8 of these i got nice gliding value changing that sounded random ( but was actually only 8 different variations, but chosen randomly)
cheers
