M4l Crashing when trying to use the help

I wanted to see if anyone else is having problems with M4l and the help causing Max to crash. I found a few others on the net that this appears to happen to them as well. The below links describe the same behavior I am seeing.

I couldn't find other posts in this forum that pertained to the behavior I am seeing. When trying to use help, especially with a help patch that uses audio, it causes Max to hang and I have to force quit max and start over. Also, any help patch with audio never plays. I have to copy the help patch to my patch and connect the output to the plugout to get sound. I don't remember this being the case in version 5.

Is anybody else having problems like this?

My system
15" MBP 10.8 16Gig RAM 256SSD
Live 9.0.5
Max 6.1.3

I use this machine for music using Live only. This is a brand new machine I bought and upgraded the drives ram etc. just for music about a month ago. Everything is a fresh install. I installed Live from a boxed copy. Live 8 is not on this machine or Max 5. On my older Mac pro Live 8 and Max 5 ran without any problems really.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps your preference files need to be refreshed (deleted while Max is not running). If this doesn't work then please send an email to support.

In MacOS 10.6 and earlier, Max 6 Preferences are stored here:

~/Library/Application Support/Cycling '74

Please throw away the entire Cycling '74 folder.

In Mac OS 10.7 and later, this folder is hidden. You can find it using the 'Go' Menu in the Finder. From there, choose 'Go To Folder...' and enter:

~/Library/Application Support

then navigate to the Cycling '74 folder and delete it.

Andrew,

Thank you for the suggestion. I appreciate the response. I gave it a try and made sure to empty the trash folder. Still the same results. It seems to crash or hang especially when looking at help with audio devices. I tried installing the LIve 9 suite demo with M4l demo on a Windows 7 32bit machine and I couldn't get it to crash.

I will ask support for further assistance.

If anyone could help I tried uninstalling Live and M4l completely as per the instructions from Ableton. Instructions found below. I restarted my machine afterwards and reinstalled the software that didn't work.
https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/how-to-uninstall-live-completely/
https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/reinstalling-max-for-live/

I reinstalled Java thinking it was a problem. That didn't work. I tried Andrews suggestion but that didn't work. I have a ticket in with Cycling 74 but they still have not gotten back to me.

I am assuming that people with the full version of Max are not having this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can make this happen 100% of the time every time. It isn't a intermittent problem. Below is a link to a video explaining the problem. If is anybody else having this problem?
