M4L : launch a video on Quartz composer using a LAN network
Hi to all from a new user. For a theater work, I need to do this : I play some sound from my laptop using Live and Max 4 live. At a given point in the timeline, I need to launch a video on another laptop unsing a LAN network. I guess I can do this using OSC, so I thought I could use Quartz composer, which I haven't used yet. On the Max side, I know this can be done using udpsend. On the video laptop, I know how to play a video using quartz composer, and that I can use an OSC receiver patch to get the message, but I can't find informations about the message I have to transmit from M4L. All I know is that it seems that the player in QC can be started using a 'true' message'. Maybe it is also possible to play the video using a collective built with Max run by the video laptop. Can someone give any clue about this topic ?
Thanks for that. In fact, I changed the way to do it by making a standalone app with max to play the video because I didn't find how to receive osc in QC. And used oscbonjour for the network wizardry... But I'll try your device anyway !
