M4L plugins for video delay compensation and latency-free recording?

When working on full projects it's a constant back and forth between composing and production, which makes it hard to stay on synch with picture due to the increasing global project latency. The same goes for recording while monitoring in the box instruments/sounds..

I was wondering if such tools exist?

The first should be able to read the global project latency and set a delay to the video playback engine by that amount.

The second one would probably be a workaround like having tool on a dummy track, with a shortcut to map - something that behaves like this when pressed:

1. store output routing of current track in cache and set it to MASTER (this way we don't have to deal with latency produced by subgroups and the pre-master track - ofc only works when reduced latency while monitoring is on)

2. change that tracks output back to the value stored before, when pressing the key again or when leaving the track / disarming the track

I have no programming experience, this is just how I think it could work playing by the rules of Ableton Live's enviroment.

Those little tools would be SO huge for every serious media composer!!

Maybe they already exist, but I couldn't find anything similar so far..
