max 5 full uninstall - which paths?
Hello,
I need to install an earlier version of Max5 to work with a key/license-server on a university.
What folders need to deleted for a complete uninstall?
Best regards,
Klaas-Jan
You don't need to uninstall, simply download an older version and run the installer. I reverted from 5.1.1 to 5.0.8 and the only problem was a duplicated file which yielded a warning on the post window. I just deleted it and that was it.

Unfortunately on this machine the installer was reporting that it could not install because of a newer version being installed.
Beats me. It could be because it is a keyserver version of Max. We'll see.
Support told me to remove these folders/files, so I'll try that tomorrow.
~/Library/Preferences/Max5 Preferences Folder
/Applications/Max5
and from /Library/Receipts/
" .pkg"
Max5.pkg
MaxMSP46.pkg
MaxMSPRuntime46.pkg
Any other suggestions? Disk permissions? The machine is running OSX 10.5
Thank you,
Klaas-Jan
PS: a 5.1 demo was installed earlier. The keyserver version is a 5.0.x version.
in your Library Receipts folder. I had a package that installed one minute after Max5.pkg called InterlokExtensions , or something to that effect. I deleted that as well and then my installer would let me install an older version.
Hi -
I'm having the same issues expressed in this thread -
I have a demo installed and now I'm trying to install our Keyserver version.
I've deleted all the files indicated, including all Pace files I can find and I have edited InstallHistory.plist.
The System Profiler no longer lists Max in the Applications list.
The Installer still indicates the presence of a newer version.
The Keyserver Version is 5.0.8 and the Demo version is the latest.
Any more suggestions?
Thanks!
