MAX 5 standalone
Hi everyone,
I've tried to build standalone (.exe) applications with max 5 but the problem is that they only will run on a machine with max installed on it, if not I get an error saying that files are missing. In my understanding making executables should work the same as in max 4, just make sure to have the support folder and mxj and it will be fine. Does anyone know if any changes have been made that I am unaware off?
Thanks in advance,

Instead of my guessing at what your understanding is,
perhaps it would be helpful to ask whether or not
you followed the instructions here:
You've done that and it still doesn't work?
Ah, I have to admit that I haven't read that because I was expecting that it would have been the same as in max4, and this works fine indeed. Thanks.
The only drawback is: when I sell custom made solutions to custumers now (which is what I do), I loose the charming aspect of just giving a folder with an executable which will work on any machine you run it without any installation of anything,I feel that this is a shame, has anyone found a workaround for this?
Many thanks
Kessito
As I approach release of a new commercial project I'm working on, I
plan to build a single installer that will seamlessly install the
appropriate files (if necessary), as well as my application.
That said, I'd love to hear if others have tackled this already.
Also, my application will need a Java JRE installed, and I need to
have the installer check for that (and install it too, if necessary).

Just wanted to say that standalone under M5 will be very important for future works which would use multiple computers. Installing a standalone is much simpler than equipping computers with heavy progs.
