Max 6 Canvas Locks Up

It does not happen often but when it does the canvas in Max 6 refuses to lock (cmd+e) and the lock option is not available in the edit menu and all the buttons at the bottom of the canvas except the enable debug button grey out and I have to close the patch and re-open it. I get a little ding from my macbook everytime I try to lock the patch. I can open a new window and edit/lock that but when I click back to the funny window it still will not lock.

It is not repeatable - it only happens after a while of editing and moving things around. I think it happens when I am editing properties in the inspector and repeatedly opening and locking the canvas - not the inspector in the sidebar.

It just happened again. I was editing the colours of a panel in an open inspector window - not the side bar inspector - and after a while I could not lock the patch or open the inspector window.

The save and save as object are also greyed out. I have to close, the save and the re-open the patch.

Hi Grizzle,

Lets try trashing Max's preferences. In MacOS 10.6 and earlier, Max 6 Preferences are stored here:

~/Library/Application Support/Cycling '74

Please quit Max, throw away the entire Cycling '74 folder, and restart Max.

Let us know how you get along.

Yep I should have tried that first of course - It seems okay now but I will test it more and if it comes up again I will repost. Thanks for the help.

Good to hear. I believe we will have a fix in the next update for this issue, but if you do happen to have any additional info on this behavior, please let Support know.

Thanks!
