[max 7] jit.playlist: "Couldn't find" error
Hi all,
I just treated myself to max 7 and have a slight problem: it seems as if (Win 8.1, Max 7 x64) the jit.playlist doesn't work for me. I noticed it on the "What's new" tour but I also have the same problem on a new patch:
Whenever I drag a movie clip to the patcher, the console claims "couldn't find" (for example with "media/jitter/sunflower.mp4". The same applies to the Video Browser from the left sidebar. All the videos from the Max 7 library are listed, but with a crossed-out icon and with the error message, if I try to drag them to the patcher.
Does anyone know what went wrong here? It's possibly a noob problem...
thx and all the best,
Daniel
Edit: It seems as if a reinstall (this time 32bit) with some reboots fixed the video problem but I still can't view the documentation under the "Max Documentation" Help menu. I only get an error message in the top right corner like "no such xmlfile: javascriptinmax.maxvig.xml". What is wrong here?
win 64 users are recommended to follow the instructions here, to support playback of factory mp4 files (although not mov files):
specifically, install the Haali Media Splitter, and ffdshow codec pack components.
Thanks for the tip! After some time I got the x32 version to work as expected but it took me some de/reinstalls, I don't know why, but well, as long as it works...
I am having exactly the same issue.
No matter where movies are stored, the object reports "cannot find" message whereas 32bit version shows them no problem. Could well be a bug in 64bit version of the object.
I have the same problem. Windows 8.1 x64. However, I'm running a 32 bit Max. I tried downloading the two things suggested by Rob. I'm not entirely sure how they are supposed to help...
Eumh, I have the same (similar) problem. My 16:9 Apple ProRes 422 LT 1920 × 1080 files are being read by the jit.playlist.
The same file 4:3 Apple ProRes 422, Timecode 720 × 480 are not found and not supported by the console.
unsupported file type
jit.playlist: couldn't find /Users/myuser/Desktop/RobbeDeHert/4:3 Beelden/movie.mov
I find this really strange..
I think I figured it out, I should have left a reply sooner, but I completely forgot about this thread. The file needs to be in MP4 format, otherwise it won't be recognized.
Really didn't chagne anything but made a new patch and put all files togheter and changed to maps name in to something small and it works again..
