It looks like the mouseover color change on many objects is removed in max7, is there any way to get it back?

I just found this out as well. The strange thing is, some buttons of old patches created in Max 6 do have a mouseover color when opened in Max 7. But then when I change the background color in Max 7, the mouseover effect is gone and can't be reinstated.

Edit: I just saw that in the help file for textbutton, on the appearance page, the attruis showing "usecustombgoncolor", "color" and "selectioncolor" are connected but greyed out, and the hint "mouse over to see the selection color" doesn't seem to do anything. So there seems to be a few changes that aren't documented or broken.
