Max 8.6.0 release notes?
Are the release notes available for Max 8.6.0, which is now bundled in Live 12? I cannot find them anywhere.
We haven't officially released Max 8.6.0 independent of the Live 12 beta, but hope to do so soon. When we do, we will most certainly post some release notes. Stay tuned!

Current max 8.6 beta does not run on El Capitan 10.11
which 8.5.7 did.
Will that remain so ? and if so for what reason ?
You can find our Max 8.6 / RNBO 1.2.4 release announcement here:

The minimum requirements for Max 8.6 are MacOS 10.15 and Windows 10.
Good to see development going strong!
Congrats, I'm super excited about Arrays and Strings, this is really going to make working in languages inside Max more fun. I look forward to adding support for them to both Scheme for Max and the csound6 objects!

The improvement of the loading time with Max for Live Devices is such a huge deal! Thank you!
Yeah, the load time improvement is quite solid. Really simple comparison comparison test with one of my devices (x10 instances being duplicated) is showing like 40% faster or so.
yeah, can confirm. at least 40%, feels 60%+
here: insert random meme with huge smile :-)
I thought it is finally end with max updates for me,
but 8.6 seems to run ok on 10.13

p.s.
node script seems broke (which I don't care much about) and maybe rnbo,
but the rest seems ok.
hey ! is max 8.6 still compatible with Live 10 ? if not, any advice how i may have two concurrent installations (one <8.6 for using with live 10, the other 8.6 for using standalone) ? thanks!
We don't explicitly prohibit using Max 8.6 with Live 10, though we also don't guarantee that it will work. That being said, if you find problems, it is worth reporting them in case there is anything we can do about it.
As far as concurrent installations, on Mac, it is fairly easy, you just install from the DMG and don't overwrite the previous install. You can rename the apps to something more convenient.
On Windows, I believe you will need to install the older version first (if it isn't already installed), rename the Max 8 folder to something else, then install the Max 8.6 version in the default location.
Then, in Live, just be sure to select the version of the application that you wish to use as the Max for Live editor in Preferences->File/Folder (or just stick with the bundled application if that is what you'd like to do).
ok, thanks for the info !
