Max for Digital Performer

How about Max for Digital Performer, or Max for Logic. Why ableton? I hate ableton live. I bought ableton suite 8 just because I knew max for live was coming, but had to sell it as it was not the way I like to work. I have a Max 5 license, but would love to use it as a pluggin in DP.

Hmmm. I worked with Max and Digital Performer for a long time.
ok, you mention Logic, too, that means MAcintosh.
so you have IAC midi
and rewire audio and control.

So go to it, dammit!!!: there is tons of interactivity these with tools: you can generate tons of control data, process audio into and out of DP... Max and DP kept me quite happy for a long time!! I doubt there is *that* much you can do w/ LiveAPI/Max4Live that you couldn't get done someway with rewire and IAC and multi audio outs, like you have in DP. So go for it.
Otherwise:
If you can get DP or Apple to work closely with David and Co. to integrate Max/Msp/Jitter with their DAW products, providing all sorts of resources for the project, including much of their dev staffs, and integrate MaxMsp with the most inimate control of their DAWs, well, the I say: Max for DP, Max for Logic, let's go!

I think you have exactly one rat's a** chance in the darkest regions of Hell to get either to work with C74 like that.

Otherwise, if you can get Avid, Apple ,Steinberg,Sony, and MOTU to *ALL* agree on a common plugin standard, and agree to co-manage it's evolution so that no one of them has a differing, competing implementation to code for, and to make that standard open: well then I *bet* C74 could be talked into reviving Pluggo.

Again, as far as I can see that rat's a** is even more finally, totally cooked in this case. You might as well choose a spot in the woods, sit down and wait (hopefully quietly) for someone to give you a billion Euros.

(Reality check, Mr. Whiner.)
Bye.

on a more positive note, I use both all the time, since my belove pluggo is gone forever (bouhouhou) and the music has to be delivered ;-)

IAC built-in driver for MIDI
Soundflower for the audio

DP supports more than one audio driver, so I use both and create sends and return and bounce when needed.

I works flawlessly (and with SuperCollider when I do synthesis ;-)

and btw, Live is not for me but I won't bash it.

and if you want, you can do an aggregated audio device with the built in Audio/MIDI setup.

This is why I love Macs (but won't do pc bashing either ;-)
