max.osversion
I'm wondering what the value of max.osversion is in javascript. With macintosh, the value of "56" would likely indicate that I'm running 10.5.6. However, XP Media Center Edition SP3 (don't know if other SPs return differently) returns "700", Vista Home Premium SP1 returns "258", and XP Home Edition SP3 returns "1f5".
Is there some coherent pattern I can rely on for the values for windows OSes?

Hi Forum - surely you guys at cycling74 know the answer to this???
I get "1f5" for win xp pro sp3, "64" for osx 10.6.4 (which makes some sense, at least) and "259" for win 7 pro.
The problem I am trying to solve is with cross-compatibility on windows machines and 1f5 and 259 mean nothing to me.
Any clues?
