MAX reading touchscreen data on MAC?
Some remarks on touchscreens on the forum, but mostly Windows...
My question: Is there a way to have MAX readout the data send by a regular touchscreen monitor over USB?
I am on a macbook with Mojave.
Thanks for all help,
Peter
Hi Peter,
you can get multitouch data using TUIO protocol (which you'll receive in Max with the udpreceive object).
I don't know many multitouch screens with native TUIO support apart those from PQlabs, which are not monitors but overlays to be put over the monitor...
For other touchscreens, you can use the drivers from touch-base (https://touch-base.com). It is not free though, but they offer good support for many models, for quite a while now.
I am currently using this one : Iiyama, T2n52MSC, running Mojave on a MacBookPro and it works fine.
BTW, if anyone knows of multitouch screens with native TUIO support, I'd be interested to know.
Best,
Vincent
