max scripting and bpatchers

Dear Hive Mind,

Is there a method, without inlets or sends, for sending messages to
named objects in a bpatcher from the parent patch? Nothing that I have
tried has worked thus far. Sending messages via pattr family objects,
of course, works throughout the entire patch, but these do not pass bangs.
