Max ToolBox : I need your help

    Mar 17 2006 | 2:26 am
    Hello,
I am writing a paper about my Max ToolBox and time has come to change the name, the term ToolBox is too general and I need something that represents more the Idea of "UI enhancement"
I'd be grateful if people on the list could suggest names, if I choose your idea you will be mentioned in the paper. (and perhaps become famous :P )
    Thanks a lot !

Maybe you have to explore the idea that your toolbox is not exactly a toolbox, it is more something like a really helpfull shortcuts colecction...(i think) Anyway you can always go to a Greek vocabulary and find something related ;-)

Stefan, this function is already built into the toolbox but it's hidden :p It's actually the very first thing I wrote when I made the toolbox. The reason why it's hidden is that I need the user to input the number of connections to make and wanted to find an elegant way.
You can still access it in the meantime by hacking up a little, you would need to send this message (via send object) to maxtoolbox receive object :
      connect_single_to_single ar1 ar2 ar3 ar4 ar5
ar1 being the number of connections you want to make ar2 being the inlet offset ar3 being the outlet offset ar4 [0 or 1] If you want to swap the objects ar5 [0 or 1] If you want to connect last outlet to first inlet and so on
This will be included in the next version in a more convenient way.
You can mail me if you have any questions regarding this, I'll be glad to help.

There is a lot of knitting that goes along with creating patches. Your utility helps me knit my maxpatcher into one fancy sounding sweater. How about,
      the MAX Knit Kit
      or
      MAX Needles

Ever thought of "shorthand" or something alike? StenoMax, MaxCutShort, Fast feeding max or maxMax (maximize max)...
