MaxMSP as an efficient audio router/splitter
Hi,
I'd like to check if MaxMSP can be used as an audio router/splitter to connect my hardware efx to the audio card and have complete control over their signal flow.
I must be able to spilt signals to several audio ins/outs and control the feeding via midi.
Is there something I may check ( a module or a preset ) ?
I have never used this software so I think the best thing for me would be to check something already developed that could come close to my needs.
Thanks a lot.
there is basically two objects you could use; the
signal level fader to build something "mixer" where
the volume of the single channels can be controlled
by a user, or the [matrix~] object.
matrix~ would be the clostest to what you called a
router/splitter and it is easy to biuld a little
custom patch around it which does only what you need,
for exmaple offering only certain routing options.

Its very easy to do in Max.

The tutorials

Most existing solutions for such a (basic) thing are probably overloaded
with individual solutions for different uses than your specific one.
I recommend the tutorials to do it yourself from scratch, the list
people here will help you with problems which remain... You'll love your
own solution, and you will be very proud of it... ;-)
