Just got my book and getting ready to joyfully plunge into the depth of text, but wondering if perhaps there is supposed to be a cd or some sort for the "interactive demos". (...granted, i haven't even read the 1st page yet).
"In addition to the in-depth text, the authors have also provided hundreds of example patches and interactive demos, along with online support and practical exercises."
i'm sleepy and excited, so i know i may be overlooking something right now, just want to make sure i'm not missing anything.

Where are the interactive demos? The book says check the website and the website (FAQ) says check the book.
Why isn't there a link on the front page next to the pdf download?

Hi All, Mine shipped Dec 6. Another friend had his ship the same day. Still no sign of it on the East Coast of the US for either of us. Anyone else have any luck? My guess is we're getting bogged down between weather and the holiday season.
Mine was also shipped on the 6th and not in yet. And i am in Amsterdam.
Its the weather for sure over here, plus we've had the postal service on strike for some days.
I mailed virtualsound yesterday, they replied very quick and nice with the fact that it should come in this week, cause my "free shipping" takes 7-10 businessdays, and isnt trackable. So i will have to wait a bit longer.

Hi, the publisher confirmed that there are a few delays due to very bad weather in Europe (where the book is shipped from) plus the mail system is always slow during the holidays.

Just found out about this and I'm so excited! I've been away from Max/MSP for a while and I want to get back to it.

We are working at the Italian version of the volume 2 right now, and we hope to have both Ita and English versions available in 2011. Third volume in 2012.

alright people, still in italy at the moment, and back in about a weeks time, have my dosh ready for a copy of the book when i get back :D
one question i wanted to ask is whether any of the books will have good info/tutorials on creating your own externals.
i know that there is info online for people to download etc. but i have a hard time reading on computer screens for a long periods. max programming is fine, but reading a book in pdf is a bit of a drag. i like books. ;)
so just wondered if something like this would be available in any of the future books, or whether there are better routes in learning external building?

building externals is just something to take my maxing a little bit further. i have some useful abstractions i use, but would like to be professional and build externals of them, then give them away.

Same here. Ordered on December 1st, shipped on the 6th, still hasn't arrived. I have not yet contacted the publisher because I figured it was just delayed by the bad weather in Europe.
Yes, there are delays. The majority of orders received at the beginning of December have been delivered, and AFAIK the others are arriving in these days. The publisher says that the situation is slowly returning to normality (they also sent me this link! http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/11/snow-present-in-49-of-the-50-u-s-states/ ).

Just want to say over here that I got replied on all mails i send to the publisher. They are very polite.
They asked me to give it another 2 weeks. Which is ending this week.
I am in Amsterdam btw (not the US) Thank god no snow anymore over here.
@stufflin I am in the same boat - shipped dec 6th and everyone around me has theirs but not me. The publisher agreed to send another copy "in a few days" which is probably their way of buying some time in case it arrives but it hasn't yet and I don't have a good feeling about it at this point. ;-)
My copy arrived today in Texas! Lots to look forward to here. Thanks again for this great resource!
