MAX/MSP, Kinect and Processing

We're currently starting a project at University, and I was wondering if it's possible to write a patch using MAX/MSP to program a kinect that controls a program made in Processing.

We're required to create a game using Processing and/or MAX/MSP and was wondering if it would be possible to control some actions in the game using the kinect. We want to make it that a hand controls if the character is looking up/down, and when we jump, the character jumps too. The game will be a simple 2D game.

Any help on this topic would be nice,

Thank you :)

Why not do it all in Processing then? The SimpleOpenNI library is great for that: https://code.google.com/p/simple-openni/

Yess i is possible - in fact we have somebody doing something similar here at Queens. I think you might need to use osc to communicate between the programs - though I think it as mentioned might be simpler just to connect to processing directly....
But yes you can do both :
