In Max 8 we have now the menu item "Edit>Reinitialize". It triggers all loadbangs, but also sets interface objects to their initial value.

Would be nice if we could do this with a max scripting message like [; max reinitialize]. I think this is not possible yet? Cannot find such a command in the reference pages.
