Merzbow noise patch explained
Hi,
I just managed to open this patch in max8:
I could not find the "Marshall" object and the "gen24 511" object but that's fine as it seems to work also without.
I was wandering if someone explain what this patch is doing? Or more correct to say - how the patch is doing what is doing ?
what is the relations between the peek~ waver with the buffer~waver and the lookup~ waver?
Are we waiting a random samples of either zero or one to the peek~ waver object that transfer it to the buffer~ waver object?
what is happening when passing the biquad~ into the lookup~ waver object?
Thanks
I don't know much about max/msp but I've messed with this patch before. It's just a sampler going through a filter at the end of the day. It's a parody patch by Akihiko Matsumoto, it's a more sophisticated way to say like, "oh harsh noise is just loading a picture into audacity." That being said it is pretty good I just wish I knew enough about max/msp to remake it.
objects with an argument identically to the argument of an existing buffer~ will refer to this buffer~ , nothing more. buffer~ loads the file in RAM, play~ will play it from there, peek~ can read and write single samples from and to number messages, buffir~ will use it as transfer function, waveform~ will display it and so on. nothing spectacular.
gen24 is from percolate, which you can download from the package manager.
