MIDI controller not working in M4L patch
Hi all,
I am trying to control a Jitter patch in M4L with my MIDI controller, but the MIDI messages do not seem to be coming through. I have ctlin hooked up as I would in Max, but no data is coming through, except - and this is very strange to me - a 0 value at control number 123 when I press stop on the Ableton transport. I've got other devices in my Ableton set (as well as in Max MSP itself) hooked up to the MIDI controller with no problems. Anyone have any ideas what might be the matter?
Cheers,
Jay
Keep in mind that you can receive MIDI from your controller only if the M4L device is a MIDI effect or instrument, ie. not an audio effect.
CC#123 is a "note off" message generated internally from Live.
In case of doubt post your device here as attachment (zip).
In the same way, I need to use a kind of ctlin inside au audio patch inside an audio track in M4L. It is not possible at all?
I need to do this because I try to find a way to retrieve the value of the volume's slider of the audio track inside M4L to control something in my audio patch on the same track.
I know it's possible to ask Live to output midi controller signal when the sliders move, and I wanted to take that signal to control something inside the audio patch...
I am not sure if it is clear enough...
I guess I am not the only one who tried to do something like that...?
Hi Julien,
check out my new externals - they might help you.

Awesome
However, it didn't solve my problem as I expected... but this external could be very useful!
