midi mapping (on sp 505)

I try to use my SP 505 with Max/Msp. I don't have huge experience with midi mapping.
The SP 505 has 16 banks and 16 pads for each bank.
However I try to send messages from max to 505 and I am facing some problems
The most important thing is that I can't change banks. I can control the pads from the first bank but I can't control all the others. I am sending messages through noteout (or midiout, reacts the same). The first pad corresponds to number 36 the second to 37 the third to 38 etc. Why does this happen? Why the first pad is the number 36 without any obvious reason?
If someone has an SP (I guess its pretty much the same with all the SP models) can help with what kind of message as midi output should I send? Because, while noteout thing works (for the first bank) maybe it's because of that, that I can't change banks
Any help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks in advance, t

Hi. In SP505 under midi settings, use the 'Pad Ch.' for sending program changes from Max. Note number 36 is C1, its probably assigned to this for easier control from an external keyboard.
