Midi routing to other tracks in Ableton

I see some old posts on this subject, but I can't find any current information.

Is there a way to send midi to another track in Live in a similar way as the "MIDI To" on a track that does not have an audio device loaded? I know how to do this with audio using the AudioRoutes example from Cycling74, but not sure how to do it with midi. In the AudioRoutes example, it uses the LOM to produce a dynamic menu that lists the available audio tracks. When you select one, it routes the audio using the multiple channels of a plugout~ device. Does anyone have examples to point to for a "MidiRoutes" example?

Thanks.

If you read the comments inside the audio routing menu abstraction included in the Audio Routes you’ll see that you can just supply a different message on load to its right inlet. basically instead of telling it to list “audio_inputs” you say “midi_outputs” or something like that. Then the menu works the same. Sorry for rough answer, away from computer.

I don't see that. Can you specify exactly which patch it was where you saw that? I looked in "Audio Routing Example" "Audio Sender" and "Audio Sends". I didn't see anything about midi_outputs.

Are you referring to the "MIDI Routing Output" example patch included on the What's New in Live 11 page? I see the "audio_outputs" or "midi_outputs" message option there. The problem with that is it only allows midi to be routed from an audio device, not a midi device. It also is limited to route to one destination. I'd like to be able to send some notes to one destination, some to another destination, and some to go through to the device's own chain.

It looks like this is currently not possible without use of [send] and [receive] object pairs that introduce latency, but Ableton and Cycling are perhaps working on more flexibility with regards to midi routing. :( It's odd that you can route control mappings anywhere in Live, you can route audio anywhere in Live, but MIDI is not there yet. Why wasn't this the first to be implemented?

If anyone knows anything different please correct me, or if anyone can verify, please confirm.

Thanks.
