MIDI Setup... in Mac Standalone

I can't seem to get the "MIDI Setup..." window to work in a standalone. After I build the standalone and open the window instead of seeing a nice list of the MIDI devices and the option to offset their channels I get a window with a diagonally striped background and the word (deviceviewer) in parenthesis. Not sure which version of Max broke this. I am now using the latest - 5.1.8 on OSX 10.6.8.

I notice the same problem when I open my patch in Max5. I get the window with the word (deviceviewer). This goes away if I select "MIDI Setup..." in Max 5. Then everything magically works and my copy of the MIDI Setup works.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

Here is the patch - Just an exact copy of the MIDI Setup that comes in Max5 but with an added inlet so that I can use pcontrol to open the window.

Any hints on getting this to work or a way to code the MIDI offsets so that user can use multiple MIDI devices easily with my software would be great.

Thanks - Stefan

that's weird, I get the same problem on XP. Is there an actual file named "deviceviewer" that makes the object? If I make a new object and enter "deviceviewer" then it comes up just like MIDI Status. I couldn't find the exact name in the C74 folder though. So, if there is, maybe including them in the standalone would do the trick?

I'm having the same problem.

I can get the "MIDI Setup..." which displays correctly in an application when I add it manually in 'maxinterface.json', but not when I try to include it in my patch, or any custom menu made with [menubar].
