midiStroke: sending key commands to ableton

flim's icon

hello!

since there's no pause button I could midi map in ableton live, I'm trying to send the equivalent in key commands. therefore I'm using midiStroke

[spacebar] + [shift] do the job of merely pausing my track

here's my setup - and it's not working..

I've been trying for hours, which is insane.. what did I miss on?

cheers!

I am not familiar with midistroke but isn't that easy to do with max 4 live using the stop_playing & continue_playing function of the live_set ?

technically yes! I just haven't purchased max 4 live yet.. and the above setup should be a walk-over in its realization.. (in consideration of its short manual)

I just tried it and it works fine for me
just make sure that live is the active application (otherwise max is receiving the keystrokes)
so connect a metro 500 to the bang that sends the message and see that it works
(plus you probably need to define the channel in max and a value in midistroke)

you're right, it works..! I probably missed out on actually having ableton in active state.. (only used the [metro] just now, always stayed within max for manual banging)

thanks a lot, timo!
