MIRA status
I just thought I'd put this out there incase it inspires anyone with control over MIRA dev in any way.
Today I got really excited playing with VIZZIE in max 7 (I've used max for many years, but never done video stuff). I was having a blast, and said to myself 'this would be so fun on the ipad, instead of clicking with my mouse. Lucky for me, there's MIRA, and app designed to seamlessly mirror the max patcher on the ipad.'
I downloaded the package and the app, pulled a mira.frame behind the vizzie modules, and sighed disappointedly as the screen remained black.
Oh yeah, MIRA is useless with BEAP and VIZZIE.
damn. I know that there's infinite wonderful things that can be done with the tools as they stand, but just want to point out to the C74 folks that , to me, MIRA is hopelessly crippled at this stage (and it's been out well over a year). I don't even bother with it, because the limitations and workarounds are so profound.
And I'm no dilettante; I've been using Max and iPads to make a living for years.
So yeah, I'm not really complaining, as I know that the devs have tons of work, and creators always have to balance their resounces. Just thought I'd give one perspective from a disappointed pro.
i must say i am frustrated as well...
Still no bpatcher, no waveform, no video, no camera, so USB connection.
Also, the use of mira.frame makes things hard. I'd love to have a "add to Mira view" instead.
Add to MIRA view would make me pick this up again, having to double up GUI for max4live devices doesn't work for me....
Mira is really cool and has a lot nice use cases already so I'm not complaining but a Mira View sounds like an awesome idea!
