Mixing and filtering --- how to?
I know absolutely nothing about jitter except that it's capable of doing real-time video. I'm wondering if there is a simple example that shows both how to mix multiple sources (.mov files are fine) and then pass the result through a mask filter so that the video looks circular.
I did find a tutorial that shows how to mix two sources (really cool) but nothing about how to have a chain of filters (say). I'm assuming that it would be possible to supply a still image mask with some portion of it transparent (much like one would do with photoshop masks).
I'm trying to see if we can replace the hardware system used by one of my bands to display video at a show with a Max application.
Thanks for any tips.
Have you checked out the vizzie clippings? There should be some examples in there that do what your after.
You can always hack them to do more specific stuff too.
I haven't checked out anything yet --- I don't know what vizzie is --- my expertise to date has been really limited to the MIDI part of Max with just a tiny bit of audio processing.
I'm just trying to figure out if I should invest some time with jitter or invest it in Quartz Composer to get what I want given that I'm equally ignorant of both of them (but I've found an example for Quartz Composer that looks like it can do what I need). I'd rather use Max if possible so I can leverage other stuff I've built but I really just need a quick/dirty determination as to whether I can mix multiple videos and shove them all through a mask so that I can protect a circular rather than rectangular view.
OK --- I looked around a bit and figured out how to do the basic stuff I need with jitter and masks.
