modulation mode not available for type enum

Why is it that live.dial modulation mode is greyed out, not available for enum type? ie if a dial has 1/2 1/3 1/6 to control a rate parameter, why cannot modulation mode be set? This means that a live.dial using enum cannot be automated via the clip modulation.

Seems like this is another limitation of m4l, quite an annoying one. Why cant m4l devices just behave like native live devices? Its really confusing for the user.

I spent an hour and thirty minutes today naming 180 live buttons/dials, only for max to crash at the end.

On top of that M4l keeps randomly deactivating automated live objects.

From a developer pov max is riddled with inconsistencies and from a user point of view just plain confusing. This is almost making m4l unusable.

IMHO m4l needs a bit of work, to make it a true and useful integration.
