...preferably in multiple timezones. I've noticed on some occasions that spam posts linger for quite a while (sometimes until West Coast working hours?)

How many people currently moderate the forums? Could a handful of people across the world perform regular checks just to clean out the spam?

The first thing I do in the morning (european time) is clicking on the spam button everytime I find a spam post. But sometimes, the spam remain for days.
I must say that seeing people spending time posting jokes on those spam threads is not really motivating to me.

mwah... are we so easily offended by a bit of spam lingering for a day? to be honest, some of those are so hilarious that reactions are unavoidable and a good laugh from time to time.

i mean, the quest for spam-free-ness leads to captcha's for every post and other totally inhibiting measures, like most quests for total security against something. i'd rather stay free from those and have some spam for breakfast every now and then.

i usually move spam to "misc", but that makes them remain in the list when you go to the "all" forum.

so the only thing what helps you against too much spam is that you stop browsing "all" and go to the msp or jitter forum directly.

I always go straight to the MaxMSP forum, that's where I spotted the spam this morning that finally made me ask about this.

Couldn't the blatant spam posts just be removed?

I was wondering if it would be possible to give a few more people, who are up and about at different times, sufficient privileges to take care of the troublesome posts.

I am on east coast, I'll be happy to help, but shouldn't we roll over to stackexchange style? I think it would really help
