motion tracking

Hello Dear List,
This is more towards a hardware question.
I was wondering if my video camera had no firewire output, what would be the next best way to connect this camera to my computer in order to do some possible motion tracking with jitter.?

thanks!

There are two options I can think of:

1. If you use a desktop you can purchase an Alchemy TV card. This will you give you a composite input a reasonable price (around $120)

2. If using powerbook, then your only option might be a video to firewire converter. 1394imaging has one for around $300.

Hope this helps

I've also used the Alchemy TV card with a Mac, with good results
(optimal quicktime integration)... what kind of PCI card would you
suggest for a Jitter/XP platform/dx.grab solution?

I'm using an ATI TV Wonder Pro-about $70 at Best Buy. It works
perfectly on my XP machine.
