Motormix objects installation

I'm having troubles installing the motormix objects by Darwin Grosse: https://cycling74.com/tools/grosse-motormix/

I've tried Max 4.6, 5.1.9 and 6.08. In each case I've noticed that the file types differ from the ones in the grosse package: .maxhelp instead of help and .mxo for the objects.

Does this mean this is an old package that should be recompiled for use in the current Max version? Or is it a matter of altering the filenames?

The error I get when I put the files in a declared path in Max 5 is "motormix: unknown external object type".

Thanks!

I can't help with this library in particular, but I do have MotorMix support running in Python under MXJ.

Ah, another route in the modular Max universe :-) interesting, thanks.

Give me a shout if it'd be useful and I'll throw it onto GitHub.

It's possible that this version does not have the Intel code in it, so that'd be a problem. This is very, very old code, and I don't even own a Motormix at this point. It may be wise to take Nick up on his offer; as MXJ-based code, it won't be version or OS-specific.

Thanks Darwin. I'm pretty sure I used your Universal Binary version... should I just be able to put those objects in the same folder that all the .mxo files reside in?

Nick, if you could github it, that would be great, thanks.
