Move an object along a radial path
Hi there Jitter People!
I am very new to to Jitter - although an experienced animator in Lightwave 3D.
I am trying to move an object along a radial path with several defined stopping points along the way from beginning to end.
The object will stay oriented to the center point of the circle that the radius defines.
I have successfully loaded an object using jit.gl.model, but can't figure out how to define the path or move the object along it.
Can someone PLEASE point me to a Patcher or another resource that can help me with this?
I have run across jit.anim.node and jit.path, but no explanations in a step by step way of using them. Or maybe this is not the way to go...
I am looking for a "step-by-step" or video tutorial please.
Thanks in advance for some assistance here!
did you check the helpfile of jit.anim.path and the example patches for anim and model in the examples folder (jitter examples -> render ) yet?
Thanks for helping me Tobias.
Yes I did study the examples and help files.
Not being a programmer type of person, I feel the need for step by step implementations of these functions.
It is so easy for me to do this in Lightwave, but I don't understand the Jitter language.
I've been watching tutorials by Delicious Max on You Tube, and that's the kind of instruction that helps me the most - he generally only deals with music though. Reading other people's code doesn't really do it for me.
Please have patience with me, and if you can point me somewhere with step by steps, I sure would appreciate it.
My ultimate goal is to define a path that replicates a real-world dolly track for transporting video cameras on. My brother is taking care of the Servo side of it, but neither of us knows how to construct this scenario for our controller. We hope to implement this product on Windows, Mac, Tablets and Smart Phones.
So you can see this is not just an "Art" project.
Thanks again.
