MP3s Crashing Max 5 on Win XP

I've emailed support, but if anyone else can help that'd be great.

I'm trying to play MP3s using the import message with buffer and groove. This works on my Macs and Win 7, but I can't get it to work on two separate laptops each running Win XP.

When I try to import an MP3, Max crashes on both Win XP computers. I get the same error on both machines: coreaudiotoolbox.dll crashed.
After this, Max must close.

I have the latest version of the .dll and QuickTime on both XP computers.

If anyone knows how to resolve this issue, please HELP!

QuickTime and iTunes run fine on these computers and play MP3s, but Max is crashing when I try to load ANY MP3.

Here are the specs for computer #1:
Max version: 5.1.5.43290
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3
Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile, 1.79 GHz
RAM: 896MB
CoreAudioToolbox.dll version: 7.9.8.2, downloaded Oct. 11, 2012, installed
with QuickTime

Computer #2:
Intel Core Duo processor 1.83GHz,
1GB RAM, and XP servicepack 2 or 3

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

This is related to some changes in a recent update to Quicktime, and will not be fixed for Max 5.

You will either need to update to Max 6.0.8, where it is fixed, or downgrade your Quicktime installation to an older compatible version.
